My name is Julie aka Julie Bee, my Dad gave me this nick name at the age of Sixteen.
My Mom sewed almost all of my clothes growing up and I wanted to be just like her and I was for many years in our matching outfits.
I loved the sewing Mom did for me, there were many Christmas fittings in the living room by the tree"close your eyes and no peeking" she would say to me as we tried to avoid the pins, sometimes I would sneak a peek!
It was about the age of ten when Mom taught me how to crochet, a basic chain stitch and single crochet stitch! I do dable in Crochet as well, some knitting, beading and embroidery, yes Mom was involved in the teaching and encouragement!
I couldn't wait to grow up and get behind the sewing machine. My adventures started at the age of thirteen with a grade Eight Home Ec. class in sewing and I haven't stopped since then!
Sewing is my passion, it is the creative process I enjoy the most,.. from an idea or request, on the hunt for fabric, sometimes the secret stash, ssshhh don't tell my Hubby to the design and completed project to you!
All of my items are sewn by me, using new and preloved fabrics. I sew in small batches keeping looks fresh, current, unique and many "One of a kinds"
I truly love what I do and I hope you love your new treasures as much as I love making them for you!
Follow me at the local craft and farmers markets including Peachland Farmers and Crafters Market.
You can also send me a note or call to confirm where and when I will be.
I look forward to seeing you,
Julie Bee "Little Miss"
